This beach hotel is very nice and new. I like the concept of two floors and balcony swim pools. The sea breeze at night is amazing. I would definitely recommend African Princess for business and holiday travels. The staff are very responsive.
Breakfast was great.
Rooms were always neat.
I will come back to African Princess Beach Hotel, anytime I am in Gambia.

They gave me a room with the dirtiest water I've ever seen. It was completely brown and the towels turned brown when drying my hands. When I complained, they told me they were aware of the issue so why was that room not removed from the system?
The next room they gave me had no hot water in the morning.
The beach is full of stray dogs and the staff kept giving them water so surely they'll not leave.
They wanted to charge me €60 euros!!! For the airport transfer when the usual price is no more than €20 for a 25 mins drive.
Also they charge for room service.
Housekeeping lacks attention to details too: no toilet paper and water and towels replaced irregularly.
Given the price they charge for their rooms is extremely high as it's marketed as a high level resort, these things shouldn't happen. It's extremely disappointing.
On the plus side, the room is clean and staff generally friendly.
I will certainly not be back and pay the extra money for this disappointing service.

Since arriving in The Gambia, I have had 2 separate events at the African Princess hotel for my cousin’s 60th birthday and each time, I have been truly impressed with the service provided. The staff are so humble and cordial. They went to great lengths to make her special birthday events memorable. They responded efficiently to ensuring that her guests had what they needed. I would definitely recommend the African Princess as a venue for any event. Next time, I’m in The Gambia, I may just stay there as well, scenery is absolutely stunning too overlooking the beach 😀

Gambia is a fantastic holiday destination and the hotel is in a great location, right on beach and close to most tourist attractions. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms very clean and spacious. The Swim up rooms are lovely and there are always plenty of loungers available on the beach or around the pool.

It is with great disappointment that I must address a recent experience at your establishment. Despite payment for pool access, we were not informed of the unavailability of space upon arrival. Subsequently, upon seeking a refund, we were informed of the no-refund policy. This lack of transparency and accountability reflects poorly on the integrity of your establishment. I strongly advise against patronizing such a place, as the treatment of customers seeking simple services raises concerns about the overall quality of service for staying guests. It is my hope that you address these issues promptly to maintain the trust and satisfaction of your clientele.
